Teleabortion

Before you book a teleabortion, you must complete the following self-assessment:

  • I am able to stay in a place that is less than 2 hours’ drive of a 24-hour emergency medical service (such as a hospital), when I take the medications.
  • I am 16 years of age, or older
  • I do not need an interpreter
  • I have not had pain or bleeding during this pregnancy
  • I am not allergic to mifepristone, misoprostol, or any prostaglandin
  • I do not have chronic adrenal failure
  • I am not taking oral corticosteroid medication
  • I do not have a bleeding disorder
  • I am not taking anticoagulants (blood thinners) – aspirin is ok
  • I do not have an intrauterine device (IUD) in place now. If you have an IUD in place this will need to be removed by a health practitioner before your teleabortion appointment
  • I understand I need to be less than 8 weeks gestation on the day of my 2nd appointment. Gestation is estimated from the first day of your last period or by ultrasound. You can work out your gestation using our pregnancy calculator. We will send you an ultrasound request form. Do not have the ultrasound done until you are 6 weeks gestation by your period. If you are less than 6 weeks, the pregnancy may not be seen on ultrasound and you may not be able to proceed with teleabortion.

If this self-assessment does describe your situation, you can make your appointment online now.
(You will be required to pay a non-refundable booking fee. Refer to our booking Terms and Conditions.)
