A vasectomy is a surgical procedure for men who have decided not to have more, or any, children. It is the only permanent method of contraception for men and has a failure rate of approximately 0.1%.
The procedure separates the tubes (vas deferens) that carry sperm from the testicles to the penis. Afterwards, sperm are no longer present in the ejaculate and is instead naturally reabsorbed by the body.
How long does it take a man to recover from vasectomy surgery?
Most men return to normal activities within a few days. However, it is recommended to avoid strenuous physical activity for two weeks to allow proper healing.
How long does a vasectomy procedure take in Australia?

Is a vasectomy painful?

How long should I avoid physical activity after a vasectomy in Australia?
When exercising after a vasectomy, you should avoid:

- Non-contact sports for 2 weeks
